How to pack your luggage efficiently?

When you are getting ready for a trip, you already know that things might be unpredictable. The weather might be different than indicated in the forecast, your plans might change, you might go to a place or meet people you did not plan originally. So packing might be a little overwhelming as you might feel like you need everything. Take it easy! Relax and learn to pack efficiently, then you will have everything you need with you.

1. Pack by your schedule and outfit. Do think of what you plan on doing day by day and think of the full outfit for each occasion. Think about combining some pieces differently and achieving a new style. Of course, consider extra and which options might come up.

2. Get a separate kit for the travel toiletries. This way you will always know the exact weight and size, how much room you need in the luggage for those things. Buy small bottles in advance, you can refill them for the new trip, fill your kit with what you really need during the trip. Multi-purpose toiletries are best for traveling.

3. Roll your clothes instead of folding them. Lay out everything you need first and start rolling, rolled items take less place.

4. Put on the heaviest clothes for your flight. This will not only allow you to save room in your luggage but also might make you feel more comfortable in case it is chilly on a plane.

5. Plan shopping. Do think about which unique things you can buy in a specific country, treat yourself to something new, and allow yourself to have a light suitcase when you go.

6. Choose the right travel bag. Make sure it is not too heavy, it is expandable, and does not have interior compartments. And you have to like it!

7. Use Ziploc and vacuum bags. They compress things, allow to separate and organize items in the luggage.

8. Wrap your belt in the shirt’s collar or along the sides of the bag. When placed in the middle of the luggage, the belts take extra space.

9. Pack the shoes correctly as they take a lot of space. Think good about each pair, choose the lightest, and pack it in the bottom of the luggage close to the wheels. It is always a good idea to place small items inside of the shoes, especially the ones that might be a little fragile.
